What is wrong with food today?
The question we have here is "what is wrong with food today?"
Today, as thousand years ago, our first priority is to have access to food. Because no food means no life. All living organism are made of cells, and at cellular level food is needed so the cells can stay alive and perform their task. But it's not just that. This food also needs to be adequate. What does "adequate" mean?
To clarify, think about your car. If you fill in your tank with the wrong fuel the car will not work properly and you will eventually end up damaging it irreversibly. The same exact thing happens to our body at cellular level when fed with no good "fuel." The difference between a car and a living organism is that if the car doesn't work we can take it to the mechanic or buy a new one, but not working cells mean the organs are not performing well and this may lead your organs/body to get sick or worse - with no option to buy another body.
Our simple advice:
- Natural - Like the old days, before industry ruined food (Organic and not Organic).
- Labels - read the ingredients, stay away from it if it has a weird name and it is not in your pantry.
- Branding - advertising has a strong influence on our decisions - make your own choices.
- Chemicals - chemical dyes, preservatives, artificial flavors, added vitamins and minerals, very long expiration date: no good.
- GMO - Playing with fire again?
- Hormones - largely used to accelerate the growth in animals and vegetables we usually find in shops: this is not natural food anymore. Meat, fish dairy products: pay attention to how these creatures were fed. Very often they are forced to grow artificially using massive dosage of hormones and medications
